We met up with my mom and stepdad, as well as 3 of my siblings and their partners, and stayed at one of the gorgeous all-inclusive resorts down there. It was fantastic!
My awesome mother-in-law came out to watch our children. The kids were totally thrilled to have time with her!
When we got to the airport, we were surprised to find that we were seated in first class! They did this for us for the way home too. We're not sure, but this was probably because of all the flying we did last year for the adoption. Whatever the reason, it was wonderful being pampered!

The first night we all ate together at a Japanese restaurant called Kimonos. We had a private room and the chef cooked the food right in front of us. He was very entertaining. Here's my brother Steve catching a shrimp from the chef:
The next day all we did was play on the beach, visit with my family, and eat! The weather was perfect and it was oh, so relaxing.
While we were there we celebrated my Mom's 70th birthday. While we were celebrating, my brother Joe and his girlfriend Gillian announced that they are going to get married! What a night of excitement! We all love Gillian already, so we were thrilled with this turn of events.
We also tried scuba diving for our first time with all my siblings. We were both a little nervous about it, but really it wasn't hard at all! We had a wonderful time!The day before we had to leave we went on quite an adventure with Mom & Marvin. We took these chairlifts up through the jungle to higher ground, and then went on this bobsled/rollercoaster ride in honor of the movie Cool Running's and the first Jamaican bobsled team. You could control how fast or slow you went, so it was perfect for all of us. :)
Then to get back down, they hooked you up to 5 different segments of zipline through the jungle. They used to use these ziplines to harvest bunches of bananas. One of the segments was a straight drop down. Definitely the best part was watching Mom conquer considerable apprehension and have fun! Way to go Mom and Marvin! I hope I have your guts when I'm in my seventies.
Jamaica is a very beautiful country! My sister-in-law posted about the trip as well here.Thank you Mom for an incredible time! Happy birthday again! We love you!

Wow, what a wonderful trip. I know it's well deserved. I'm sure the kids enjoyed refreshed parents too.

I totally love seeing the pics of you, Jeff, Mom and Marvin in the bobsleds and mom on the zip line... did you get video of Mom and Marving doing the zip line? I wouldn't mind seeing that sometime!
