Christmas Day

Alex had a bit of a rough night as far as sleeping goes, waking us up at 6, but he went back to sleep and everyone slept till just after 7. We had invited the missionaries to share Christmas morning with us, and they arrived at 7:30, just as the kids were ready to come downstairs. It didn't take long for them to empty their stockings. After a bit the kids started to notice that Santa had put mini candy canes all over our Christmas tree. The boys were so excited to find the costume box Santa brought them. We were in desperate need of it around here, as the boys were starting to resort to tutus and tiaras. :)Santa provided us with breakfast in our stockings again this year, so after opening the Santa gifts we feasted on sugar cereal, oranges, and juice from the stockings, followed by fresh fruit, chocolate milk and cinnamon rolls right out of the oven. After breakfast we opened the rest of the presents. Alex was so excited when he opened the Buzz Lightyear shirt he has on here on top of his pjs. He did a little happy dance and shouted,"Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!" It was so funny! I wish I had caught it on video. My sister gave us a giant inflatable bowling set. It is lots of fun! While the little ones watched one of their new movies, the rest of us played Ticket to Ride. It is one of our favorite games. The missionaries had never played before and both of them beat us soundly! :)Here is Isabelle trying out Maya's new ball.We gave Emma this gemstone/rock dig present, and she loves chipping away and finding all the different kinds of rocks! After a recuperatory nap for the little ones, we headed off to have Christmas dinner with some good friends. It was a truly wonderful day!

Ticket to ride is our standard missionary game! They always seem to like it!
