a bit of early summer

In March we had a week of summer weather, reaching record highs in the mid-eighties. It was so wonderful! Alex and Sebastian had a fabulous time playing with water and careening down the slip-and-slide with their friends Cayson and Lily.

One of the benefits of not having grass yet, as well as plenty of dead wood to clear out along the stream, is that we can build a bonfire wherever we want! The kids never seem to get tired of roasting hot dogs and marshmallows.
 

We have also enjoyed playing Bocce Ball in the backyard, and Sebastian can't get enough of the slides. This little tyke LOVES to be outside!

I ran a 5k race with two friends and their daughters. It felt great to run outside, rather than on the treadmill. Sebastian fell asleep, but woke up for bagels and bananas at the end!

One night we had the missionaries over for dinner. One is an extremely talented cello player, so we had him give us a little concert after dinner. Emma and Isabelle performed some of their piano songs as well. It was so fun!


Jeff leaves for work before the kids are awake in the morning, so he always leaves them a little note. This note was a huge hit!
