Halloween

Near the end of October a fierce band of pirates invaded our home!
 
The smallest one being no less fierce than the older ones.

 Don't let his charming toothless smile fool you! :)

 On Halloween Day my little pumpkin and I got to go to 4 of the kids' class parties at school. We could stay at each one for 20 minutes, which was actually a good amount of time for Sebastian's attention span, and then we watched them all parade by through the school halls.

 

One of the treats Alex brought home from his party was this adorable Frankenstein. They had just dipped a marshmallow, rather than doing cakepops.

In the evening we had some friends come join us for trick-or-treating, followed by hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was very well received as it was very cold and started to drizzle at the end. We were still having a bit of the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Jeff dressed up as a "cereal" killer.

This year we offered our kids a penny for every piece of candy they didn't want, or wanted to sell us. This worked beautifully to get rid of a lot of the sugar in our house.
