Easter Catch-up 1

Our Easter activities, General Conference and my husband's birthday all happened on the same weekend, and it about did us in around here. That and our wireless acting up stopped me from blogging about all of our fun around here. We'll do it the quick way with some pics.

We'll start with a photo of our Passover/Jerusalem Dinner celebration that we had the Thursday before Easter--when Christ had the Last Supper. First we start with the lamb, grape juice, unleavened bread and romaine salad and tell the kids about the symbolism. Then I introduced other foods that were typical in Jerusalem during that time, such as lentils, olives, pistachios, and we had strawberries and dried apricots for dessert. The missionaries joined us and it was a lot of fun.Jeff's Hawaiian shirt doesn't really go with the theme of the evening. :) He always wears it to work the last day before an extended weekend or holiday. Friday was Good Friday, so Jeff had it off of work, which was especially wonderful since it was his 37th birthday. We had our traditional french toast with strawberries (still from our home-grown ones of last year!) and whipping cream for breakfast. Emma and Isabelle gave him candy and cute little service coupons they had made--complete with expiration dates. After presents everyone got dressed and went outside to try out Dad's new Bocce ball set.

It was such a beautiful day we picked up some pizza and headed to a local park for lunch,followed by a little nature walk.In the evening the kids' favorite babysitter came over and Jeff and I went to a new little Thai restaurant, and then over to an outdoor sidewalk mall where we ended up watching the new 3D version of Clash of the Titans.

Whew! This is getting long.
