Trip to the Apple Orchard

October 1st rolled around and the girls were excited to break out their Halloween apparel.
A friend gave me these beautiful Halloween dresses.

Isabelle, Tristan and Maya had a preschool field trip to an apple orchard, complete with a hay wagon ride, apple picking, climbing haystacks, petting animals, a picnic, doughnuts and cider and playing in a fun playground area. Alex came too and they all had so much fun!My friend Maria came to to help me keep track of all these little hooligans. :) Thanks Maria!They had so much fun picking apples and couldn't wait to bite into them!
The haystack was really high, but they all wanted to go to the top, even Maya.Isabelle was the only one brave enough to pet the animals at first. The boys worked up their courage enough to pet a few near the end.We really lucked out with a beautiful day. We spent all day there. Then came home and the next day the kids helped me make all their apples into applesauce. In fact I ended up bottling 21 pint jars of applesauce, so we are good for a while. I love homemade applesauce!
